Moreover, West Georgia Dermatology is proud to be 100% independently physician-owned. The practice is owned by Dr. Sarah Wilson, a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon who sees patients here every week. We are not affiliated or partnered with any private equity investment fund.
A note on Tanner. West Georgia Dermatology is not owned by Tanner Health System, and the practice itself has no Tanner affiliation: it is 100% physician-owned by Dr. Sarah Wilson. Separately, we recently entered into a joint venture with Tanner to build an ambulatory surgery center that will bring an even higher level of care to our surgical patients, and West Georgia Dermatology is the lead partner in that venture.
Carrollton's Original Practice
Carrollton's hometown dermatologists for more than 20 years
West Georgia Dermatology is where this practice began. Dr. Rhonda Rogers has cared for Carrollton skin since 1983, when she and her husband, cardiologist Dr. William Rogers, moved here to open their practices. Dr. David Schoenfeld founded West Georgia Dermatology in 2001 after serving on the Emory dermatology faculty. Together they built the hometown practice that Newnan Dermatology and Peachtree City Dermatology grew out of.
Dr. Sarah Wilson, a Georgia native, came home in 2021 after her Mohs and cosmetic surgery fellowships at Northwestern and now owns the practice. Dr. Katie Wadlington, a board-certified dermatologist, joined in 2023. The practice recently moved into its purpose-built home at 601 Dixie Street, with Carroll Cosmetic Club, our dermatologist-led med spa, under the same roof.
